KWV WINES APPOINTS OLD FRIENDS YOUNG TALENT

Old Friends Young Talent (OFYT) has kick-started 2017 by being appointed the PR, activation and digital partners for the KWV Wines group – responsible for the KWV Classic Wines Collection, Laborie and Roodeberg brands.

With its roots firmly embedded in a rich and distinguished heritage, KWV Wines was recognised by the prestigious Drinks International as the World's Most Admired South African Wine Brand in 2016. Together with OFYT’s PR and digital teams, KWV Wines will continue embarking on various campaigns and activations to further strengthen the brand’s positioning in the South African consumer market.

"KWV is one of South Africa's most iconic brands, and it's an absolute honour for us to be partnering on their wine portfolio," says OFYT's Jonty Fisher. "We're incredibly excited about the challenge of furthering their legacy in South Africa and beyond."

Marketing Manager of KWV Wines, Kerryn Lancaster adds “Wine is a very interesting category to drive awareness and loyalty. We believe that OFYT’s understanding of solid through the line campaigns with a lifestyle feel as well as particular focus on the emerging market, will stand KWV in good stead to build engaging wine brands. We are excited about the new partnership and are looking forward to some engaging work from the dynamic team at OFYT.”

PRUDENTIAL ACCOUNT AWARDED TO OLD FRIENDS YOUNG TALENT

Old Friends Young Talent has been awarded the above-the-line creative and strategy account for Prudential, one of the largest investment management companies in South Africa, after a four-way agency pitch process.

“We are excited about our partnership with OFYT – we were impressed with team at the pitch," says Sumayya Davenhill, Head of Marketing at Prudential. "They showed great insights into our category and have some good ideas on how we can continue building the Prudential brand in a credible way. We look forward to the next chapter in our journey and working with a nimble, hungry agency that has not only good strategic insight but creative muscle in both the old friends and the young talent.”

“The Prudential brand has a proud tradition of great creative work, what’s equally impressive is that it’s based on a strong, authentic truth – that’s kind of rare these days,” says Chris Gotz, National Creative Director at OFYT. “To be able to step into that space and work with Sumayya and her team is really exciting for us. Most of all we’re just privileged to be part of the Prudential success story in the immediate future.“

Following a few recent major account wins, not all of which the agency has been able to announce, OFYT is living up to its promise of a breakout 2017 year.
